Annaleigh Amanda Ashford was born in the US. Ashford is an actress or singer, as well as dancer. Her initial performances on Broadway include the Musicals Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. In the musical, Hair. Tony Award was given to Ashford for her role as Essie Carmichael, in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashley Tony Award winning actor and actress, has worked with actors and directors in stage and on screen throughout all of her career. Ashford in the near future will play opposite Kumail in Robert Siegel's exclusive Hulu show Welcome to Chippendales which premieres the 22nd of November. Ashford is currently working on Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust opposite Sarah Paulson, Ebon Moss Bachrach and Ebon Mosch Bachrach. As an Hulu Original, the film will be available on Disney DTC's platform. Ashford returns to Broadway on March 20, 2023 where he will star alongside Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production takes place located at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. This show will be led by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team that created Hamilton. Ashford portrayed Paula Jones, the main character in Ryan Murphy's new FX show American Crime Story Impeachment. The show is based on the impeachment crisis that swept Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp along with other key characters into the first ever impeachment trial in the United States in more than a century. Ashford was a part of two seasons in the CBS popular comedy B Positive. In addition, she appeared on the cult series, created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, which featured famous actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. A veteran of Broadway Ashford has been awarded both the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her performance as Essie. Sunday in the Park starring George Wicked and Legally Blonde are just a few of her Broadway credits. Ashford is a native of Denver. She was born and brought up in Denver and now lives living in Los Angeles and New York.
