Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou, the oldest of four siblings was born on August 8, 1976 in Beaumont Puy-de-Domme. She was encouraged by her parents, a dentist and a teacher who were both teachers to follow her love of theatre. This contrasted her earlier ambition to be a primatologist due to the fact that she was a fan of monkeys. The rise of her as an actor in the young age was swift and marked by early success. In 1998 after her studies, she took part in an French program for scouting talent on TV called Jeunes Premiers sponsored by Canal+ and won Best Young Actress at the Beziers Festival of Young Actors prior to launching the journey to become an actor. Tautou was educated at Institut Catholique de Paris, went to church in her youth and was raised Catholic. She has since gotten away from this background.
